Shrink44 is a free, AI-assisted file optimization and smart compression platform. We help people and teams reduce the size of images and PDFs without uploading them to a server. Every byte of work happens inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API, PDF.js, jsPDF, JSZip and Tesseract.js.

Our mission

The web is overweight. The average web page now ships 2+ MB of images. Average email attachments are larger than ever. And most online "free" compressors require you to upload sensitive documents to someone else's server. We think that's the wrong tradeoff.

Shrink44's mission is simple: make file compression fast, private and free — forever. No accounts. No upload. No watermark. No data retention. Just a clean tool that does the job.

Shrink44 is a single web application that ships 9 connected tools covering the entire file-size reduction workflow:

Image compression for JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP — with quality, resolution and target-size controls.
PDF compression by re-rendering pages at controlled DPI and quality.
Resize with 18 built-in social-media presets and 4K-aware downscaling.
Bulk processing of 1000+ files at once with a single ZIP download.
OCR (Scan to Text) using Tesseract.js for image-to-text extraction.
Format conversion with 9 preset routes plus a custom mode.

Why in-browser?

Running compression locally has three advantages:

Shrink44 is free and supported by non-intrusive display advertising via Monetag. We do not sell your data, because we don't have your data — the architecture makes it physically impossible for us to see your files.
